Manon Villeneuve is French Canadian and has a degree in Analytical Chemistry. She moved to Raleigh, NC in 1993 and started working at a pharmaceutical company. In 2015, the company closed all R&D activities, therefore Manon had to decide what to do next. She always had a passion for baking and started baking batches and batches of cupcakes. Just for fun, she posted photos of her cupcakes on Facebook and her friends started asking her to bake for them. This was the beginning of a new chapter. Baking is chemistry, so why not! Manon's kitchen was inspected by North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and is certified for home base baking business.
Manon's creativity and artistry is from her dad who went to culinary school. She remembered at a young age watching him making cakes. He actually made her wedding cake. While still in Canada she used to paint on canvas and even sold quite a few paintings. Therefore it was not surprising when she decided the paint buttercream flowers on some of her cakes. She also loves flowers, so there was no surprise when she added real flowers to her fault line cakes!
Manon bakes homemade regular, gluten free and dairy free cakes and cupcakes using a natural approach (no artificial flavor). Frosting is made with real butter, she never use Shortening. She use fresh fruits, real maple syrup, high quality spices, sea salt and pure extracts. No artificial sweeteners. She is known for her good ratio of cake/frosting, yet customers request are accepted for desired frosting amount.
